The new Pride in Place Board is now up and running across Tudno and Mostyn, with members already out speaking to residents and the first funding from the £20 million programme beginning to reach the community.
Earlier this summer, we asked people from across Tudno and Mostyn to put their names forward and help lead the Pride in Place programme.
The new Neighbourhood Board has now been put together under the leadership of Chair Jim Jones and Vice-Chair Jayne Black, bringing together people with a range of different backgrounds and connections to the area.
And they’ve been busy getting to work.
Over the past few weeks, Board members have been out and about across Tudno and Mostyn, knocking on doors, speaking to residents and hearing directly from people about what they want to see happen in their communities.
That work will help shape how the £20 million of UK Government Pride in Place funding coming to the area over the next ten years is spent.
And the Board’s first project has already got off the ground.
Community groups and volunteers across Tudno and Mostyn can now apply for grants of up to £300 through the new Pride in Place Small Grants Scheme.
The fund has been set up to help smaller groups and community projects which can sometimes struggle to access larger or more specialist funding programmes.
It could be used to support everything from neighbourhood events and sporting or social activities to environmental improvements, local wellbeing projects and other ideas that bring people together or make a difference in the community.
The application process has deliberately been kept simple. Groups need to be connected to the Pride in Place area within Tudno and Mostyn and have a bank account in the group’s name.
Decisions about which projects receive funding will also be made locally, with a panel made up of two residents from each ward.

“The Small Grants Scheme is the first step in putting the £20 million coming to the area over the next ten years to work. There are some fantastic groups and volunteers doing brilliant things across Tudno and Mostyn, and I hope this gives more of them the chance to get ideas off the ground.
“There’s much more to come, and I’d encourage everyone living and working in the area to keep getting involved and having their say.”
Applications for the Small Grants Scheme are open until 28 September 2026.
Application forms can be collected from Ty Hapus Community Support Centre, Ffordd Penrhyn, Llandudno, between 8am and 1pm, Monday to Friday.

Groups applying will also be asked to complete a short survey about what they would like to see the wider £20 million Pride in Place funding support over the coming years.
Pride in Place is backed by the UK Government but led by the community, giving local people the opportunity to shape investment in their neighbourhood and help decide what happens next.
