Claire Hughes MP joined members of the Keralan community and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board for a special Onam celebration in Llanfairfechan.
Onam is a traditional Keralan festival celebrating homecoming, harvest and abundance, with values of equality, dignity and shared prosperity at its heart.
The celebration brought together colleagues from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) and members of the Keralan community in North Wales for an evening of performances, food and celebration.

“It was a real honour and privilege to be a special guest at the BCUHB Onam celebration in Llanfairfechan.
“Onam has such a powerful message at its heart: of homecoming, harvest and abundance, but also of equality – the idea that everyone should be treated with dignity and that prosperity should be shared.
“The connection between Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and the Keralan community makes this celebration even more meaningful, bringing together people, cultures and communities in such a positive and joyful way.
“From the amazing performances to the incredible food, I was blown away by the warmth of the welcome from the moment I arrived.
“A huge thank you to Mr Jobin Matthew for organising the celebration, and to everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes. I’m incredibly grateful to have shared in such a beautiful celebration of culture, community and togetherness here in North Wales.”
